Richmond, Va. – Freshmen Cameron Gring and Lexi Lehman have been named Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer and Diver of the Week after their stellar debuts against Marshall, as announced by the conference on Wednesday afternoon.

Gring opened her collegiate career with a victory as part of the Dukes’ winning 400 medley relay. Her leadoff leg clocked in at 55.66 seconds, breaking the Savage Pool record for the 100-backstroke that was previously set by Bonnie Zhang with a time of 55.88. Gring also collected two individual victories, winning the 200 back with a time of 2:03.78, and the 200 IM in 2:06.78.

Lehman started her career by placing second on the 3-meter with a score of 268.35, only 12 points away from qualifying for NCAA Zones. The Orefield, Pa. native won the 1-meter diving event for the Dukes, producing a NCAA Zone qualifying score of 280.12 to win the event.

The two Dukes will travel to Newark, Del. on Feb. 19, with the rest of the team, to compete in a dual meet against conference foe Delaware.
