Justin Dunn, a senior at Seton Hall Prep School in West Orange, New Jersey, has verbally committed to swim for Ohio State University. He will join the Buckeye roster next fall, for the 2015-2016 season. “I loved the coaches and the team the most. The facilities were unbelievable. The school itself is great. Just an all around really good fit for me,” said Dunn.
Dunn represents the Jersey Flyers Aquatic Club, specializing in sprint freestyle, backstroke, and fly. Most notably, he is a Summer Junior Nationals qualifier in the 50 Free. As a junior, Dunn placed 5th in the 50 Free and sixth in the 100 Free at the 2014 New Jersey State High School Championships. This summer, he placed tenth in the 50 Free, 16th in the 100 Fly, eighth in the 100 Free, and 19th in the 50 Fly at the NCSA Junior National Championships.

Dunn’s Progression
All of Dunn’s times listed above were achieved during his junior season. Dunn has dropped .75 seconds in the 50 Free, a second in the 100 Free, six seconds in the 200 Free, .5 seconds in the 100 Fly, and four seconds in the 100 Back, all in his junior season. Currently, Dunn’s times are not quite at the Big Ten Championship scoring level, but his 50 Free time is close to the C Final. However, Dunn has his senior season to look forward to, in which he can improve his times and develop into a conference scorer for the Buckeyes.
I’m so happy for Justin, this has been a pal for the past few years and it’s great to see that he’s made a decision and I know he will get a lot faster!
