Meagan Ronci has verbally committed to swim at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) next fall.
“I knew from the moment I walked on their pool deck my 8th grade year for Age Group State that this was the place I could see myself swimming as a college athlete. This was my first time ever swimming at the Nat because we had moved from California to Indiana that year.
“Moving to Indiana got me back into the swimming world and swimming at that pool that weekend helped me find the drive to work hard every day at practice through any shoulder pain, the early morning practices, and never ending sets because I knew this was the place I wanted to swim at and now my dream is a reality. #gojags????.”
Ronci is a senior at Penn High School in Mishawaka. At the 2016 IHSAA Girls Swimming and Diving Championships she finished 19th in the 200 free and 22nd in the 500, and swam on both Penn’s freestyle relays. Her best events, however, are sprint free and butterfly.
Ronci swims year-round for PRO Swimming. She was a multiple finalist at the 2016 Indiana Senior Long Course State Championships in July, placing in the 50m free (13th), 100m free (16th), 200m free (16th), and 100m fly (15th).
Her best SCY times are:
- 50 free – 24.36
- 100 free – 52.08
- 200 free – 1:53.17
- 500 free – 5:05.63
- 100 fly – 57.52
