The IUPUI swimming and diving team bounced back from its dual meet loss to Oakland last night (Oct. 20) by beating Western Illinois at the Natatorium Saturday (Oct. 21) afternoon.

The Jags won 27 events in the meet; the women won 13 events while the men took first in 14.

For the women, Olivia Treski took home two first-place finishes, one in the women’s 200-yard freestyle (1:56.67) and the other in the 500-yard freestyle (5:09.81). Mallory Buha also won two events winning the 50 back (27.47) and the 100 back (1:00.08). Allison Walker swept the butterfly events winning the 50 in 26.76 and the 100 in 59.10.

Other winners on the women’s side were Rachel Metzger (1000 free; 11:05.99), Maggie Hatfield(50 free; 24.95), Andrea Hanas (100 free; 53.95). The Jags also won the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.30) and the 200 medley relay (1:49.84).

On the men’s side, Jonathan Stoller and Ben Levart each won two events. Stoller swept the breaststroke winning the 50 in 27.03 and the 100 in 57.79, while Levart won the 100 free (47.10) and the 200 free (1:41.91).

The other winners for the men were Dan Galante (1000 free; 9:51.23), Jayden Parrett (50 back; 24.87), Jackson Sandala (100 butterfly; 51.48), Mason Jung (50 free; 22.01), Nick Boryk (100 back; 53.00), John Ragsdell (500 free; 4:43.51), Landis Hollingsworth (50 butterfly; 23.10), and the men’s 200 medley relay (1:35.77).

IUPUI also swept the diving events with Krisztian Somheygi winning both men’s the 1-meter (3:07.65) and the 3-meter (351.38). For the women Rylee Dahlman took the 1-meter (267.53) and Carolyn Dietz won the 3-meter (232.65).

The Jags will be back in the pool on Friday, November 3 with a dual meet against Wright State at 5 p.m. and then will face Cincinnati on Saturday, November 4 at 11 a.m.
