Iona Gaels Pick Up Verbal Commitment from Versatile Gabriel Finch

Columbus, Ohio’s Gabriel Finch has verbally committed to swim for Iona College in New Rochelle, New York beginning next fall. Finch is a senior at Thomas Worthington High School, where he swims free, back, fly, and IM.

“I am proud to announce my commitment to Iona College! I felt right at home the second I stepped on campus and met the team. The coaches Nick and Tony made it clear early on they wanted a MAAC championship and I can’t wait to be a part of that! Go Gaels!”

Finch represented Worthington High at the 2016 Ohio Division I Central District Championships last February, swimming in the 100 back and 100 fly. He also swims year-round for Worthington Swim Club and was the 2015 Ohio Senior Meet champion in the 200 IM. During short course he earned PRs in 50 free, 100/200 back, 100/200 fly, and 200/400 IM.
