SWIMSWAM’S NCAA INSIDER: Indiana State’s Initial Recruiting Class

Indiana State University is starting a new swimming & diving program coming next fall, and the Sycamores are teaming up with SwimSwam to give you a front row seat to the process.

Throughout a series of videos, the Indiana State program members will give an inside glimpse into what it looks like to build a brand-new NCAA Division I program from the ground up.

In the 4th installment video of our series, head coach of the Sycamores, Matt Leach announces the first recruiting class that will start the program next fall.

For the initial class, the coaching staff at Indiana State have recruited a versatile group of girls from all over America. The group of nine freshmen includes, Emily Boomershine (freestyle and backstroke), Cierra Campbell (freestyle), Allie Engstrom (backstroke and IM), Mykenzie Kostka (freestyle and fly), Jacquie Price (free, fly and IM), Emily Ratliff (breast), Cori Taylor (free and breast), Zoe Williams (free and back) and Danielle Yagelski (free and back).

Boomershine’s top times:

  • 100-yard back: 59.83
  • 200-yard back: 2:13.72
  • 50-yard free: 25.02

Campbell’s top times:

  • 50-yard free: 24.96
  • 100-yard free: 52.32
  • 200-yard free 1:51.36
  • 500-yard free: 4:57.80

Engstrom’s top times:

  • 100-yard back: 58.80
  • 200-yard back: 2:06.24
  • 200-yard IM: 2:13.22

Kostka’s top times are:

  • 50-yard free: 24.64
  • 100-yard fly: 58.42
  • 200-yard fly: 2:11.51

Price’s top times are:

  • 100-yard free: 52.95
  • 100-yard fly: 56.07
  • 200-yard IM: 2:10.74

Ratliff’s top times:

  • 100-yard breast: 1:09.44
  • 200-yard breast: 2:28.44

Taylor’s top times:

  • 50-yard free: 26.71
  • 100-yard breast: 1:12.42

William’s top times:
