Terre Haute, Ind.—The Sycamore’s swimming and diving team will host their first home meet at the Vigo County Aquatic Center on Oct. 28 at 7:00 p.m.
Indiana State will be facing off with the Illinois State Redbirds in a dual meet. This meet will also be the Sycamores first time going head to head with a Missouri Valley Conference opponent.
“We are looking forward to our first home meet against a conference rival, Illinois State. This will be a very challenging meet for us, they are a very well coached and finished high at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships last year. We have been preparing and look to take a run at our school records, but we also understand that our season and the process of establishing culture and pride, which is in front of us, is more important than any given meet,” said Head Coach Matt Leach.
The Sycamores competed in the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet last weekend where they faced off with seven other programs from around the state of Indiana.
ISU set seven new team records during the meet while placing fourth overall. Jacquie Price broke her own personal record from the Notre Dame Dual meet in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.78. The 200 freestyle relay team of Alex Malmborg, Courtney Skelley, Kendall Hansen, and Emily Boomershine came in an impressive second place with a time of 1:40.15.
Illinois State came in fourth place at last year’s Missouri Valley Conference Championships. The Redbirds are led by second year head coach, Scott Cameron.
“Please come on out and support your Sycamores Women’s Swimming and Diving Program, and with every swim meet, there will be free admission. See you there and Go Sycamores!”
