Katinka Hosszu roared back to retake the World Cup points lead, besting Cate Campbell by six points to win Cluster #1.
Hosszu led by 9 after Tokyo, but Campbell surged back to take a 3-point lead after the Jinan leg. But then Hosszu, who won this series five times between 2012 and 2016, raced her way back to the lead with a 9-point win in Singapore last week. The Hungarian Hosszu earns a $50,000 cluster bonus, while Australia’s Campbell is forced to settle for the $35,000 second-place prize.
On the men’s side, Vladimir Morozov continues to lead handily, winning all three meets in the first cluster. His 60 points in Singapore were the highest for anyone in a single meet so far, and he leads American Andrew Wilson by 27. Morozov is the defending series champ, and also won the tour in 2016.

I wonder if C1 swims in the 2nd and 3rd clusters, it is not likely and then Hosszu has absolutely no competition. to win the whole. No further effort is needed.

I’m a bit curious as to why Campbell decided to go home early without swimming the 100m freestyle in Singapore .. that may have improved her standing if she did a good time in that event .. instead she decided to call it quits before her main event
Hosszu is lucky Campbell left early and didn’t swim the final day where she’d have picked up the win in both the 100 free and mixed medley relay.
Which is nuts, Imagine just giving away 15k for a days work.
Yep. She must have really needed to be somewhere else otherwise it doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Only reason to go home is that family member was dying or she already is rich af and she don’t need 15k for 1 day job
