Hong Kong swimmer Sabrina Kwok, who is based out of Sydney, Australia, has verbally committed to the UCLA Bruins.
Kwok was a member of the Hong Kong team at the 2013 World Junior Championships. In Dubai, she qualified for the semi-finals of the 50 backstroke placing 14th, though if she had matched her prelims swim in that second round, she would’ve pushed through to finals.
In total, her best long course times include:
- 50 back – 29.01
- 100 back – 1:03.69
- 200 back – 2:18.12
- 50 free – 26.95
- 100 free – 57.63
- 200 free – 2:06.23
Kwok’s times in the 50 and 100 backstrokes convert to around 25.5 and 26.2 in yards.
UCLA has their primary backstrokers for the next three seasons in Madison White and Linnea Mack, but Kwok will bring some depth to that group as UCLA tries to grow beyond their annual 4th-5th place finishes at the Pac-12 Championships.
