Chembur ke ek Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation-run swimming pool mein heart attack aane ki wajah se ek women ki hui death.

General Arun Kumar Vaidya Swimming Pool ke staff ne kaha ki,  Trombay ki rhne wali resident, Renuka Koli, jo ki 61 years ki hai, wo apne husband Gajanan Koli ke sath October 2022 se hi swimming krne aa rhi hai.

“ Tuesday ko, wo log subah 8 baje pool mei stepped kiye the aur around 8:40 am par they had women ke mouth se froth bahar aane laga. Hum logo ne unhe bahar nikala aur pool ke bahar ek clinic pr legye. Doctor ne btaya ki Koli ko ICU set up ki jarurat hai. Uske baad hum log unhe Zen hospital le gaye, jaha doctors ne unhe dead declare kr diya pahochte hi. Agar unhe turant hi medical aid mil gaya hota toh, toh wo bach jaati aisi probability thi,” pool le ek staff ne kaha.

Recently hi, 2 swimmers injured ho gye the pool mein February 26 ko. Uske baad unhe public transport se hospital le jaaya gaya.

On February 15, swimmer, Pramod Sarangdhar, unconscious ho gye the  Shivaji Park swimming  pool mein. Head instructor Vishal Sagare ne unhe cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) diya aur immediately unhe Hinduja hospital mei shift kiya gaya. Swimmer ki jaan bach gyi thi.

Sources batate h ki swimming pools ke jyadatar instructors private staffers hai aur unhe low payment di jaati h iske alawa unke paas CPR ki knowledge bhi nhi hai.

Deputy municipal commissioner (gardens) Kishor Gandhi ne kaha, “swimmer ki death ek unfortunate incident hai but BMC ke liye ye unaffordable hai ki pools par ambulance facilities rakhi jaayein. Agar health department hamara infrastructure use krna chahta h swimming pools ka,toh unka welcome hai.”
