The 2021 Atlantic-10 Conference Championships for men’s and women’s swimming & diving begin tomorrow in Ohio with the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay timed finals. Diving, meanwhile, will be held separately at George Mason University on Thursday and Friday.
On the women’s side, George Washington will try to defend their 2020 A-10 title after scoring 608 points at last year’s meet. Fordham (533) and Duquesne (525) were not far behind. For the men, George Mason will look to defend their title, as they were able to just get by George Washington last year with a score of 657 to George Washington’s 636.
The George Washington men look very good on the psychs, which spells trouble for George Mason. GWU holds the top four seeds in the 500 free, 100 back and 200 back, five of the top six seeds in the 200 free, and a number of other top seeds sprinkled throughout.
Meanwhile, the women’s psychs are much harder to get a feel for how the team race might look, other than very competitive. A host of teams have strong events or top seeds, but it’s Davidson College, a team that finished fifth last year, who hold top seeds in four out of the five relays and several individual top seeds.
George Washington’s Karol Mlynarczyk is one of the big names to watch for the men; he has top seeds in the 100 back (46.97) and 100 fly (47.98) along with the 200 back (1:43.91). The Polish freshman is in striking distance of A-10 records in all three events. For the women, Davidson junior Siena Senn holds dominant top seeds in the 500 free (4:53.82) and 200 free (1:49.48), while Jacquee Clabeaux of George Mason and Duquesne freshman Laura Goettler should match-up for some good battles in breaststroke.

Look out for King Walter On George Mason. He is going to be a force to be reckoned with this meet. You all are also overlooking all the No Times entered and the fact that no team but GW had a mid season meet, which is why they have all the high seeds.

I think it’s ridiculous that only 1 team in the conference is fully funded and gets the crazy fast swimmers when they come in as freshmen! Everybody else has to develop their swimmers!

Never said anything about defunding a swim team. It is unfair when they are fully funded and get to recruit 20 year old freshmen who have gotten on the podium at Polish Nationals!

Yeah some schools should use the fact their school is half the price and has an incredible facility on campus to recruit better swimmers from one of the fastest areas in the country.

i think people are really underestimating Rigatoni on Mason. Under rated in my opinion, swimmer to watch.
If you look at the psych sheets closely, GW does hold a lot of the top seeds. They also have lot of their swimmers entered in more than the number of allowed events and will have to scratch a bunch. It will be a close meet between GW and GMU.
