Gran Bretagna: Laura Stephens E Lucy Hope Convocate Per Le Olimpiadi

Laura Stephens e Lucy Hope sono state selezionate dalla British Olympic Association (BOA) per completare la squadra olimpica del nuoto per i Giochi di Tokyo. Adesso il roster è composto da 30 atleti.

Lucy Hope ha conquistato 4 medaglie d’oro in staffetta ai Campionati Europei di Budapest. Laura Stephens al meeting di Glasgow aveva messo il suo nome in lizza per occupare il secondo posto disponibile nel Team della Gran Bretagna per le Olimpiadi di Tokyo nei 200 metri farfalla femminili.

Stephens a Glasgow ha realizzato il suo personal best di sempre, 2:07.04. Ai Trials olimpici britannici di Aprile Laura Stephens si classificò terza con 2:09.53. Il tempo la tenne fuori dalla qualificazione olimpica. Ad Aprile solo Alys Thomas nuotò un tempo inferiore a quello chiesto da British Swimming di 2:08.32, vincendo la finale in 2:08.09.
