Aussie swimwear brands Funky Trunks and Funkita have launch a collaboration with Funky Trunks-sponsored young gun Jacob ‘Jet’ Whittle! The Jet collection consist of the prints, Jet Propulsion, Depth Charge and Miami Beats, capturing two of Jacob’s loves – speed and water. His third love of gardening didn’t really fit the brief.
Jacob has created quite a stir in the pool since he broke 50 second barrier as a 14-year-old in 2019. Since then, Jacob has gone from strength-to-strength. In 2020, he swam for the New York Breakers as the youngest team member and in 2021 at the British Selection Trials swam 48.76 in the 100m Freestyle to set a new British Age Record and secure selection on the team to Tokyo.
Whittle is excited to have his name to a new collection of Funky Trunks and Funkita swimwear.
“I have worn Funky Trunks for years, every day in the pool and to have these awesome prints that capture such an important part of my life is very exciting. I look forward to seeing these colours stand out on pool deck on swimmers everywhere.”
Funky Trunks and Funkita are proud to sponsor over 140 athletes competing around the world. Athlete Manager Erika Hellstrom said, “Supporting Jacob and his dreams of becoming an Olympian is what drives us to grow and succeed as a company, so that we can be a part of the journey for more young athletes that are inspired by today’s champions. It helps that the prints look awesome as well!”
