With the 3rd season of the International Swimming League set to kick off on August 26th, we’re taking a look at the final rosters for each ISL Team.
Cali Condors
The Condors are set to return a majority of their top swimmers, including reigning league MVP Caeleb Dressel, breaststroke ace Lilly King, and backstroke star Olivia Smoliga. Along with Energy Standard, the defending champion Condors should be in a strong position to make it to the finals for the third year in a row.

Energy Standard
Like the Condors, Energy Standard is set to retain a majority of its stars from the first two seasons of the ISL. The team will once-again be led by superstar Sarah Sjostrom, who is coming off of an Olympic silver medal performance in the 50 freestyle and looks to be one of the top swimmers in the league despite an elbow injury in early 2021. Season 2 star Siobhan Haughey will join Sojostrom in the sprint events, giving Energy Standard a tough pair to contend with.

London Roar
London is set to enter season 3 with one of the biggest losses in the entire league as Adam Peaty is sitting out a majority of the ISL season following the Olympic Games. Although he may be back for the play-offs, Peaty has not made it clear if he intends to be back into the pool by then, and he also may not be at his peak if he does decide to swim. London did get a big boost this offseason by regaining a majority of its Australian contingent that had to sit out the 2020 season, including Cate Campbell, Minna Atherton, and Kyle Chalmers.

LA Current
LA managed to pick up one of the most underrated stars in the ISL draft when they drafted Bronte Campbell. The 2015 World Champion in the 100 freestyle should provide a strong leg for their relays and she should combine with American Abbey Weitzeil for a powerful sprint freestyle duo. The team also returns Beryl Gastadello, Ryan Murphy, Tom Shields, and Maxime Rooney, all of whom were major contributors last season.

Iron
Iron’s biggest star will once again be “Iron-lady” Katinka Hosszu, who is looking to rebound after a poor performance at the Olympic Games. Hosszu, who has been one of the top performers in the league over the past several years, will be joined by Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Kristof Milak, and Emre Sakci. Milak, in particular, is coming off an extremely strong meet in Tokyo, and should challenge Caeleb Dressel in the butterfly events

Tokyo Frog Kings
Tokyo made the unusual decision to not retain all of their allotted swimmers, leading to an extremely large draft class. Its hard to tell how this will impact the team, as Dave Salo took a huge gamble with the move. However, he still managed to sign swimmers such as Alessandro Pinzuti, Cassie Wild, Catie DeLoof, Gabby DeLoof, Leah Smith, and Paige Madden. Smith will be another wild-card coming into the season after failing to qualify for the US Olympic Team in any events.

Toronto Titans
Maintaining a largely Canadian contingent, Toronto did suffer one major loss in the form of Penny Oleksiak. However, they managed to pick uprising star Summer McIntosh, who could be one of the most valuable swimmers in the entire league given her young age and trajectory. The team also returns Kylie Masse, who contributed to a slew of backstroke records this past summer.

NY Breakers
The Breakers are under new leadership for this season after Michael Andrew and his family decided to opt-out of the league this season. Andrew was the team’s top scorer for the past two seasons, and will be extremely hard to replace. However, the team still looks strong in the women’s events with 2020 star Abbie Wood returning.

DC Trident
DC had one of the best picks in the entire draft when they selected rookie swimmer Ryan Hoffer. A versatile star, Hoffer was ranked as the top prospect entering the draft and is the second-fastest SCY 50 freestyle swimmer in history. If anyone is going to challenge Dressel in the freestyle events, Hoffer looks to be the man to do it. The team also got a boost in free agency from Australians Leah Neale and Maddie Groves, both of who may turn out to be huge steals for the Trident.

Aqua Centurions
Aqua is looking to finish out of the bottom spot for the first time in ISL history. The team returns a majority of its Italian stars, along with Great Britain’s Kathleen Dawson, who has evolved into one of the top backstrokers in the world over the past year. A strong breaststroke/freestyle team, Aqua still lacks some depth in the butterfly and backstroke event.

No seliskar? :/
The frog kings have a great men’s team and a really undersized women’s team and I don’t know what to make of it
New York Breakers? More like New York Breaststroke Power House!
LA Current just announced Mikaela Dahlke going to be on their team too
No Seliskar?
What happened to the FINA World Cup? Does anyone even race that anymore? Did the money dry up? I know a lot of USA Olympians in the past didn’t race that circuit but they all got onboard the ISL.
It was supposed to start last week but the first 2 meets in China and Singapore got cancelled. The European meets start in October and haven’t been cancelled yet.
Sherridon Dressel is Dressel’s little sister?
Yes
Mandatory vaccinations?
