Note: the meet was technically four days long, as the non-Olympic distance events were held on “day 0,” but Swimming Australia is referring to the main days as days 1, 2, and 3.

Amazing meet… but I am kind of surprised that it was so poorly visited. A lot of empty seats. Seams like Australia isn’t that hyped about swimming when Thorpe is not competing any more.

Not really; the only times you will ever really see major crowds to swimming in AUS are generally for major international competitions (ie LC World Championships & to a lesser degree Pan Pacs when they’ve been held in AUS) or when they’ve been part of events such as Olympics or CommGames).

Events like SC Nats & State Championships will only see perhaps the families of swimmers if its in their home states. LC Nationals will see bigger crowds and Olympic Trials will often see good sized crowds.
