Fresno State Gets Verbal Commitment from Backstroker/Butterflier Gabbie Libang

Gabbie Libang, a CIF-Southern Section Division I finalist in the 100 fly from Royal High School, has pledged to swim at Fresno State starting with the 2015-16 season.

“I’m very excited to be D1-bound and to swim for the bulldogs! I know I’ll have an awesome experience with the team and coaches, and I can’t wait until next year!”

Libang swims for Conejo Simi Swim Club. She is a Winter Nationals qualifier in the 100 fly and is strong in the 200 fly, 100/200 back, and 200 IM as well.

100y fly: 55.88 100m fly: 1:05.10
200y fly: 2:09.16 200m fly: 2:20.73
200y back: 2:05.08 200m back: 2:26.96
200y IM: 2:08.14 200m IM: 2:26.07

Libang’s times already put her right around the Mountain West Conference’s B-final in the 100 fly and C-final for the 200 fly, and she is still improving. Libang dropped 10 seconds in her 200 fly in long course season this year, so she could be a real asset to the Bulldogs as early as her freshman year.
