Tracy Lynn Noseworthy, formerly the treasurer of the Fullerton Aquatic Sports Team (FAST) in California has been arrested on charges of embezzling more than a quarter of a million dollars from the swim club, according to MyNewsLA.com.
The NewsLA report says that the 42-year-old Noseworthy had served as treasurer from 2012 through last year, and is accused of embezzling about $266,000 from FAST over that roughly-4-year time period.
Police arrested her Tuesday night based on the results of what Patch.com calls “an extensive investigation by Fullerton Police Department detectives of the Crimes Property Unit.”
Noseworthy was brought in under an arrest warrant for a number of official charges: computer access and fraud, burglary, making false entries in records or returns and embezzlement. She’ll be arraigned on Thursday and will also face “multiple sentence-enhancement allegations” (per both MyNewsLA and Patch.com) that include “aggravated white-collar crime exceeding $100,000 and property damage exceeding $200,000.”
The Fullerton Aquatics Sports Team is based out of Fullerton, California, just southeast of Los Angeles. Noseworthy was actually from nearby Yorba Linda, CA, according to Patch.com. Yorba Linda is just east of Fullerton.
FAST has gone downhill fast in the last few years. This is not a surprise. It’s a shame especially given the rich history of this team. It needs a complete overhaul in personnel.
If there are any smart parent run boards listening, it would be beneficial to have one person do accounts receivable and a different person do accounts payable.

Hosting meets with splash fees can bring in a huge amount, especially if strict accounting controls aren’t followed. Host 4 meets a year with 2000 splashes per meet at $8/splash, less what is owed the LSC per splash is significant. Teams owned by counties, cities, or schools have very keen accountants who look after everything. That’s probably not the case here.
