Florida HS State Champion Aly Bozzuto Sends Verbal To Liberty (2024)

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Aly Bozzuto of Jupiter, Florida, has announced her verbal commitment to Liberty University for the 2024-2025 season. Bozzuto is a junior at The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, and trains year-round with Flood Aquatics Swim Team.

She shared her commitment on Instagram:

Bozzuto is a sprint freestyle and breaststroke specialist, with summer Junior National qualifying times in the 50 free and 100 breast. She recently capped off her short course season at the Florida Gold Coast Senior Championships, where she won the 50 free (23.36) and 100 free (51.65). She also earned runner-up in the 200 freestyle in a personal best time of 1:50.33.

This past fall at the Florida High School 1A State Championships, Bozzuto won an individual title in the 50 freestyle with a best time of 22.69. Additionally, she took 2nd in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.72, also a best time. Her 50 free time at state was nearly a second faster than her season best from last year, while her 100 breaststroke has improved by over two seconds from last season.

Top SCY Times:

  • 50 free – 22.69
  • 100 free – 50.72
  • 200 free – 1:50.33
  • 100 breast – 1:01.72
  • 200 breast – 2:20.01

Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Virginia, is a Division I mid-major program that competes in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA). The women recently won their 5th-straight CCSA title with 1441.5 points overall.

Bozzuto’s personal best time in the 50 free would already rank her 4th all-time in Liberty’s program history, while her best 100 breaststroke would rank 7th all-time. Sophomore Sydney Stricklin was the only athlete on the team to break 23-seconds this year in the 50 free, as she swam a 22.93 to finish 7th at the CCSA Championships. Junior Heather Gardner led the way for the Flames in the 100 breast, coming in at 1:01.03 this season.

Joining Bozzuto in the class of 2028 is Layne Jones, Taylor Stasny, and Karis Francis. Jones is a backstroker, while Stasny and Francis both focus on breaststroke.

Get out and fast. There is too much drama within the team from the TOP down. The “culture” is manipulative and toxic.
