International talents Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Marco Koch, Bruno Fratus and Liliana Szilagyi are among the notable names set to compete for big prize money this weekend at the Flanders Cup in Belgium.
The two-day, four-session meet begins Saturday morning, with €2000 prizes up for the top FINA points swim on both the men’s and women’s sides. Early heat sheets show a big cluster of European talent with a handful of swimmers making long journeys to Belgium.
The most wide-ranging international field has to be the men’s sprints, where European stars like Pieter Timmers, Andrii Govorov, Jesse Puts and Thom de Boer will be joined by Brazilian world champs silver medalist Bruno Fratus and Japan’s Asian record-holder Shinri Shioura.
The women’s sprints are also highlight events, though with a more local talent pool. Dutch powers Ranomi Kromowidjojo and Femke Heemskerk are the top names. You can check out full heat sheets below. Stay tuned to SwimSwam.com for coverage of all the action as it unfolds this weekend.
