Randy Horner is continuing to add strength to his rising power at Florida International University, this time receiving a signed NLI from freestyler Rachel Whitaker. Based on Conference USA results from last year, Rachel would already be a contributor for the Panthers in the mile, and is knocking on the door of point-scoring in the rest of the freestyle events.
Rachel currently swims for Don Lemieux at Greenwood Swimming out of Worcester, Massachusetts. She turned in high scoring swims at the 2015 NASA Junior Nationals in March, placing 4th in the mile, 7th in the 800 Free, and 10th in the 500 freestyle. She was also part of the second place 800 free relay at the meet in Clearwater as well.
“I chose Florida International University for many reasons! FIU will provide me with an amazing coaching staff & teammates, a beautiful campus, and incredible academics. It has always been a dream of mine to swim down south and I cannot wait to be a part of the FIU family! Go Panthers!!”
