League Admin Gloat – Can I just take this moment and relish being on top for once? Yours truly (#TeamTandL owner, along with @dannygermany) has never had the point lead, so I’m going to milk this one for all it’s worth! I do have Mr. Phelps as my 1Free pick, so I’m feeling good about staying in the top tier at least after Day 2.
Order Shake-up – It’s interesting to note that the #FantasySwimming WINNER from our Nationals, edition Team #WeMissYouRicky (renamed as #WeStillMissYouRicky) ends up in last place thus far in #Lane4. Will she have enough roster power to slowly creep up on the competition as the meet continues? In the #DeckChange league, a strong leader has emerged in Team #ChasingKalisz; she earned solid points from Irie, Adams, and others to set herself up as the one to be chased moving into Day 2.
League Heartbreak – Yes, we were all momentarily shattered when Tom Shields got DQ’d in the 200 Fly. It’s amazing that #Sharknado is still tied for the lead having Shields earn 0 points for the team’s roster! We also had our hearts go out to Missy Franklin in her back spasm issues, but were so impressed with her strength in powering through both the 2Free B Final and the 1Back Final!!
Record-Breaking Bonuses – It’s so nice to get that extra cherry on top in the form of 5 extra points for records!! Ledecky earned #RyanLochtesCamoShorts AND #TeamTandL extra points for her 200 and 800 records. Seebohm also made it rain for #TeamTandL, as Grevers and Murphy added points to other teams as well.
Bottom line, it’s early in the competition, but we are all keeping a close eye on how things play out day by day!!
