Emilie Beckmann Snags 50 Fly Euro SC C’ships Qualification

2019 DANISH OPEN SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Emilie Beckmann was back on form tonight in Esbjerg, with the 22-year-old staking her claim on the women’s 50m fly event on day 3 of the Danish Open SC Championships.

After already having qualified for the European Short Course Championships in Glasgow, Scotland with her 100m fly win from night 1, Beckmann was back at it this evening, clocking 25.44 to top the podium. She represented the only swimmer of the final to dip under the 26.04 QT.

Thea Blomsterberg also nailed a Glasgow-worthy effort this evening, hitting the wall in a time of 2:22.50 to lead the women’s 200m breaststroke. After clocking a speedy 2:23.40 in the morning, Blomsterberg produced her time to edge out Clara Rybak-Andersen, who also notched a QT in 2:23.15.

Helena Rosendahl Bach completed her trio of freestyle qualification, adding the 200m free to her 400m and 1500m victories. Tonight Back clocked a time of 1:56.25 to dip under the 1:57.48 QT. Signe Bro joined her, snagging silver in 1:57.04.

For the men, Viktor Bromer came close to European SC Championships qualifying in the 200m fly but fell just shy. He took gold in 1:55.75, just over half a second outside the 1:55.16 needed for Glasgow.
