CLEVELAND – Miami University swimmer Elise Campbell was named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Swimmer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday morning. She made significant contributions as the team competed in its first meet at Wright State this past Saturday. The award is the first of Campbell’s career.
Campbell entered the pool again for the RedHawks after being redshirted last season. She made a splash, winning three events in their first meet of the season, helping Miami defeat Wright State.
She won the 100-yard freestyle relay with a time of 52.98, nearly 1.5 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Campbell also contributed to the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:39.02) and 200-yard medley relay (1:47.54) victories. In all, her contributions led to 31 points for the Red and White.
The next stop for Miami is at Purdue, where they will compete on Oct. 21.
