Last week USA Swimming’s administrative officials, athletes both professional and amateur, industry leaders, Olympic teams coaches past and present, industry-leaders, and organizational new-comers alike gathered in Atlanta for the Annual Convention.
In the weeks leading up to the convention SwimSwam conducted a series of interviews with various candidates that were running for seats on the board of directors and for Zone Director roles. Well, the results are finally in! Unlike other elections that are also happening this fall, USA Swimming kept it classy.
Below is a list of all the newly-elected members. All those elected this year will have the opportunity to serve in their roles for 2 years, and if it is their first term, they will be eligible to run again in 2018 (there is a two-term limit before a two-year break from the position must be taken by the individual occupying any particular role). The 2017 Annual Convention will take place in Dallas, Texas, from September 10th – September 17th. In the interim, #SWIMBIZ will be taking place in Colorado Springs, Colorado, from Sunday, April 9th – Tuesday, April 11th, 2017.
