IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league’s weekly swimming and diving awards.

SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Ella Dyson, Junior, Rice
Dyson picked up two medals at the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston, November 20-22 as the Owls finished second as a team. The junior captured the 1,650-yard freestyle in a time of 16:20.86, which is the top time in the conference this season and the 33rd-best time in NCAA Division I this season. She placed third in the 500 freestyle in 4:46.68, which is first in The American and 92nd in NCAA Division I. Both times are NCAA ‘B’ qualifying times.

FRESHMAN SWIMMING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Sally Olsson, FIU
Olsson aided the Panthers to a second-place finish at the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana, November 21-23. The freshman placed third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:12.31, which ranks second in The American, 61st in NCAA Division I and is an NCAA ‘B’ qualifying time. Olsson also finished sixth in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.98, which is fifth in the conference this season.

DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Frida Zuniga Guzman, Redshirt Junior, East Carolina
Zuniga Guzman earned three medals at the NC State GAC Invite in Greensboro, North Carolina, November 21-23. She won the platform event with a score of 284.25 points, finished second on the 3-meter boards with 322.10 points and placed third on 1-meter with 289.50 points.

FRESHMAN DIVING ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Brooke Megdall, FIU
Megdall qualified for the A final in two events at the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana, November 21-23. The freshman placed fourth on platform with 242.60 points, seventh on 3-meter with 287.18 points and 14th on 1-meter with a score of 225.08.
