“There were definitely some great performances,” Duke head coach Dan Collela said in a statement to Duke Sports Information. “One of the things that I was the most proud of wasn’t necessarily the times, but the way people raced today. We challenged them to swim some of their races a little bit differently than they have in the past and I think they did a really great job of that. It’s something that’s only going to help them continue to improve as we go forward.”
The Blue Devil women picked up 1-2-3 and 1-2-3-4 sweeps in the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard. The Duke charge was lead by Sophomore Maryellen Targonski in the 1-meter (290.18) and Sophomore Kirby Quinn in the 3-meter (310.05), both posting Zones qualifying marks.
