Drumroll Please…the 2013 Men’s NCAA Championship Contest Winner Is….

Sorry about the delay, there were some gremlins who got into our files and corrupted our data. After deploying some gremlin traps (humane of course), we finally have the results of our 2013 Men’s NCAA Championship Pick ‘Em Contest.

Drum Roll Please….
Swim4Me, also known as Lucky Foreman, head coach of the Albany Starfish, ran away with the title in a grand total of 155 points! He did it with consistency – not placing in the top three on any one day, but being very good across the board got him his victory.

For his prowess in prognostication, coach Foreman will receive a FINIS SwiMP3 underwater MP3 player.

Further congratulations go to our day 3 daily winners – LAB, SlowClap, and DeBark. Lab was just 8 points shy of a perfect score (meaning, basically, that he picked all but a single first, second, and third-place finisher out of the 6 events on the last day).

*ZLW 13 was one of the records that got corrupted on day 2 of the competition, and he was actually the highest scorer on that day, so we’ll give out 4 prizes for Friday’s events.

Big props to SlowClap. Even though he didn’t win the overall prize, he was in the top 3 on both the first and third days of the meet. A tough second day (yikes – that 200 free and 100 back were tough picks) dropped him to 11th overall.

Also props to #swammer, not only for being one of two users to hashtag their username, but also for being our only female entry to place in the top 20.

We appreciate everyone playing, and patience as we worked through some technical issues! We assure you that we’ll have them all worked out by the U.S. World Championship Trials this summer!

(For those keeping up…this also settled a tie in our women’s contest challenge. Bueller won the tie-breaker by placing higher, so Fares Ksebati will win the Engine technical suit. DWY, in honor of the tie, will receive a SwimSwam t-shirt.)

Were there any picks that nobody got? Or at least some that very few predicted? I can’t imagine that Teduits or Kremer got that many
