Chase Seal from Magnolia, Texas has verbally committed to swim for McKendree University next fall.

Seal is a distance freestyler who swims for Magnolia West High School and Magnolia Aquatic Club. Seal finaled in both the 200 free (11th) and 500 free (7th) at the 2016 Texas High School 5A State Meet. In long course season, he finished 12th in the 800 free and 18th in the 1500 at USA Futures Championship in Austin; he was also 31st in the 400 free.

The Lebanon, Illinois-based McKendree University announced the formation of its men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams on August 24, 2015, bringing the number of intercollegiate sports teams to 32. The Bearcats then hired Jimmy Tierney, formerly of Northwestern, to helm its inaugural 2016-17 season. The university began construction on the McKendree Metro Rec Plex, which will house hockey and swimming, last fall.
The Bearcats are competing in the Great Lakes Valley Conference along with perennial D2 powerhouses Drury, Missouri S&T, Truman State, William Jewel, Indianapolis, Lewis, Maryville, Bellarmine, Quincy, and Missouri-St. Louis.
