Destin Lasco Cracks Michael Andrew’s NAG Record In SCY 200 Free

14 year-old Destin Lasco broke Michael Andrew‘s 200 free National Age Group Record at the SAKA Summer Sunset meet in Philadelphia. Lasco took off almost four seconds from his entry time to clock 1:38.24, getting under Andrew’s old record of 1:38.31 set in 2014.

He also put up a fast time in the 200 back, taking off nearly five seconds to clock 1:44.35, just 1.20 off Andrew’s record of 1:43.15.

This isn’t Lasco’s first NAG, but it is his first SCY record in the 13-14 age group.

Lasco also competed at the US Open this past weekend, finishing 21st in the 200 back (2:03.94), and 13th in the 100 back, including a 56.84 prelim swim that was just .01 off of Michael Andrew’s NAG in that race.
