Crawfish Aquatics Wins Louisiana State Championship

Crawfish Aquatics won the Louisiana Short Course State Championship with 6514 points, outdistancing NuWave Swim Club and Tiger Aquatics with 2702 and 2651 points respectively.

Colin Bone led way with 5 wins and multiple state records for the 17-18 age group less than a week after winning the 100 freestyle in 51.02 (lcm) and finishing 3rd in the 50 free 23.52 (lcm) at the Speedo Champions Series meet in College Station, TX.

At the Louisiana State Meet he broke 17-18 state records in the 100 free (44.86), 200 free (1:37.99), 500 free (4:27.56) and 100 fly (49.36). Bone also won the 50 free in 21.11 and finished second in the 1000 free in 9:20.93.

That race went to former LSU All-American Craig Hamilton in 9:15.34.

The Crawfish also set three state relay records in the 15-18 age group:

  • 200 Medley Relay- Olivia Huffman, Ashlyn Hunt, Erin Trahan, Caroline Beene- 1:47.94
  • 400 Medley Relay- Huffman, Hunt, Trahan, Beene- 3:52.58
  • 400 Freestyle Relay- Trahan, Chanler Turnley, Huffman, Beene- 3:29.18
