The Missouri Tigers have gotten a two-for-one deal in recruiting the Minneapolis area, as they’ve added a second verbal commitment from the Aquajets Swim Team in Eden Prarie, Minnesota.
Courtney Evensen will join her previously-announced teammate Kylie Dahlgren in the fall of 2015 in Columbia, Missouri.
Evensen is primarily a backstroker and freestyler, with yards bests of:
- 50 free – 23.89
- 100 free – 51.25
- 200 free – 1:48.88
- 500 free – 4:55.05
- 100 back – 56.23
- 200 back – 1:59.24
She and Evensen have been backstroke training partners for years, and will continue that through to Missouri. In addition, Evensen will likely be on the team’s 400 and 800 free relays as a freshman along with their top-freestyler Anna Patterson, and have a chance to earn her way onto the other three relays as well.
While Evensen’s freestyle swims didn’t progress much during her junior year, she swam lifetime bests at NCSA’s in both the 100 backstroke (by a full second) and 200 backstroke (two seconds).
Evensen is currently a holder of four National Age Group Records in yards-course relays: the 11-12 200 and 400 medleys, and the 13-14 200 and 400 free relays.
