Evoqua Water Technologies Corp. (NYSE: AQUA), an industry leader in mission-critical water treatment solutions, today launched a contest that seeks to help an indoor commercial pool improve air and water quality. This is a chance for a competitive pool to win equipment worth up to $65,000 in value. The contest builds on Neptune-Benson’s commitment of transforming water at aquatic facilities; and enriching lives of swimmers, coaches and families by providing better water, and a healthier more sustainable environment to optimize swimmer’s health and performance.

Why enter? While chlorine is used as a primary disinfection method to keep pools clean and safe, it comes at a cost to swimmers and pool owners: swimmers experience dry skin and eye irritations, and owners experience corrosion of equipment. Medium pressure UV offers better protection than chlorine alone by inactivating chlorine-tolerant pathogens, like cryptosporidium, and eliminating chloramine byproducts in the air that might harm swimmers’ health. UV disinfection improves air quality, can reduce chemical usage and eliminate the need for shock treatments, resulting in less corrosion of surfaces, pool equipment and reducing the threat of pool closures.

Evoqua’s Neptune-Benson is the Official Water Quality Sponsor of USA Swimming. It is the preferred filtration and secondary disinfection equipment provider for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials –as well as other major USA Swimming event facilities.

Summary of contest: Qualifying indoor aquatic facilities can enter the contest for the chance to win an ETS-UV™ disinfection generator. All swimmers, coaches, families and patrons should encourage their local indoor aquatic facility to register at www.greatuvgiveaway.com between now and Oct. 25. On Nov. 1, the contest will open to a daily public vote, and the facility with the most votes by Nov. 15 will be determined the winner. The contest timeline is as follows:

  • Facility registration is open from: Sept. 24 – Oct. 25, 2019
  • Daily public voting is open from: Nov. 1 – Nov. 15, 2019
  • Winner notification: on or around Nov. 21, 2019
  • The winner will have three business days from date of notification to claim their prize

To participate: Visit www.greatuvgiveaway.com during the registration period to gain access to the contest entry form. Once the voting period opens, visit the same website to place a vote. The public can place one vote per day throughout the promotion period.

Eligibility: Only aquatics facilities in the United States are eligible to enter, and the participants entering the facility registration must be 18 years of age or older and an authorized representative and employed by the facility. Participants voting in the contest must be 13 years of age or older. Aquatics facilities with existing medium pressure UV disinfection equipment are ineligible.
