Cailen Chinn of Lafayette, Colorado verbally committed to swim at Emory University beginning in the fall of 2018.

Chinn is a senior at Fairview High School in Boulder, where she is a member of Fairview’s 2016 Colorado 5A state championship team. A state finalist in each of her three high school seasons so far, Chinn is a NISCA All-American. At the 2017 CHSAA Girls 5A State Championships she placed sixth in the 200 free (1:55.19) and eighth in the 100 free (52.87), and contributed legs on both freestyle relays.
Chinn swims year-round for North Jeffco Hurricanes. In club swimming she specializes in free, back, and fly. She was a finalist in the 100 free at Mt. Hood Sectionals in July; she also competed in the 50/200 free, 100/200 back, and 100 fly. Chinn logged her best times in the LCM 100/200 free, 100 back, and 100 fly at that meet. She was also a finalist at the SCY Sectional meet in Lewisville, where she swam the 100/200 free, 100/200 back, and 100 fly, and went PBs in all but the fly.
