The 3A, 4A, and 5A Colorado Girls State Championships are set to take place both this weekend and next weekend at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center (VMAC) in Thornton, CO. The meet will also be streamed on NFHS Network.

All three teams projected to win are the same teams who won last year in 2021. Evergreen also has the chance to win four 3A Championships in a row. 

The biggest 5A showdowns are projected to be in the 100 butterfly, breaststroke, and backstroke. The 100 butterfly features the top four girls within a second of each other, and the 100 breaststroke and backstroke has the top three girls within a second of each other.

The 4A showdowns are projected to be in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Both events feature the top four girls within a half second of each other.  

The biggest showdown in the 3A meet is projected to be the 100 butterfly as the top three girls are within half second of each other. 

Some of the biggest names projected to swim are Stanford commit (2022) Lucy Bell. Bell is the top seed in the 5A 200 IM. Virginia commit Emma Weber is seeded third in the 5A 100 breaststroke and fifth in the 200 IM. Weber holds the Colorado State record in the 100 breaststroke as she went a 59.93 in 2021. 

At the 4A meet, Caroline Bricker highlights the psych sheets as she will look to defend her title and 4A state record in the 200 IM. She swam a time of 2:00.87 to win the event last year. Mary Codevilla (Notre Dame commit) holds the 4A record in the 500 freestyle, and she is not swimming the event. She instead opted for the 50 freestyle which she is the second seed in and the 100 breaststroke which she is the third seed in. 

Diver Victoria Sanders highlights the 3A meet psych sheets as she will look to defend her title and 3A state record in the 1 meter diving. Last year she scored a 479.35.
