In Coleman’s Carpool we get the insider’s perspective on your favorite swimmers. SwimSwam Head of Production, Coleman Hodges, invites swimmers to take a ride with him and talk about anything…except swimming.
Being crowned a world champion, along with putting up several other very strong performances at the 2016 World Short Course Championships in Windsor, wasn’t the only thing Michael Andrew was busy with this week. Throughout the whole meet, he was vlogging and documenting his travels and experiences abroad and with Team USA.
When we took a ride together, I talked to him about where his interest in video production and documenting came from, and he was happy to explain.
You mean “World Champion Michael Andrew Loves Video Production”.
Tom from Chicago – technically speaking, we don’t know that World Champion Michael Andrew loves video production. When this video was filmed, he was just a JUNIOR World Champion. 😉
I was wondering when there was going to be another MA article. Y’all must already miss talking about him since worlds just ended.
I think it’s more MA than swimswam. He and his family seem to be trying really really hard to market him and make him famous. Based on interviews with the parents, they seem convinced he his gods gift to the planet.
His poor sister
He has a great sister! Their process reminds me of Jordan Spieth. Jordan understands it takes a “team” to help him accomplish his goals and he recognizes no one individually, even himself. I think the Andrew family is following the same model.
I have watched interviews of MA and his family. In my opinion it is too harsh to say his parents, “…seem convinced he (is) god’s gift to the planet”. I would suggest a better characterization is to say that they are convinced their son’s swimming talent is a gift from God and they are trying to use this gift both as an economic advantage for their family and to spread the word of God.
There is no rule that you have to read every article on the website.
If I’m on the website I still see the name Michael Andrew..
My son tells me swimmers are the toughest athletes….but you have a breakdown at the site of a name? That’s gotta be tough.
boo hoooo!! 🙁
