As an update to our previous story about representatives of Clemson Swimming and Diving meeting with the University Board of Trustees ways to the pending cut of their program, the meeting has been delayed, according to Harry Foster, who is one of the spearheads of the movement and the founder of the biggest facebook group supporting the programs.
The delay has been caused by the fact that the state of South Carolina has not set their budget, and therefore the University cannot decide on its budget either. Foster characterized the move as a technicality, and not necessarily a huge setback to the push. He did, however, say that a new date for the meeting has not been set, leaving the swimmers with nothing to do but wait for their chance to be heard.
Although the change of date is not necessarily detrimental to the cause, the longer the team has to wait to be reinstated (in the event that they are reinstated), the harder it will be to avoid long-term damage to the program.
