Diving powerhouse China emerged victorious out of all the individual springboard and platform events this weekend in Rostock, Germany, where the first leg of the 2017 FINA Diving Grand Prix took place from February 24-26.
Peng Jianfeng took gold in the men’s 3m with 483.85 points, while Jian Yang was the best in the 10m with an impressive 546.60.
Among the ladies, Wu Chunting (309.85) and Zhang Minjie (360.35) took gold in the 3m and 10m events respectively.
Host country Germany also distinguished itself by winning a silver medal in the men’s 3m with Patrick Hausding (472.60) and a gold medal in the men’s synchro 3m (Patrick Hausding / Stephan Feck, 419.91).
Belarus, Canada, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Russia and Ukraine were other nations on the podium.
The next meet of the Grand Prix will be held in Gatineau (CAN) on April 6-9.
