South Africa’s Chad Le Clos has become the first male swimmer to ever win 100 World Cup gold medals following his 100 fly performance at the 2016 FINA World Cup stop in Moscow.
Le Clos added 3 more golds to his total this week at the World Cup stop in Dubai, where he swept the butterfly races. While he tweeted that today’s 100 fly victory marked his 100th gold, he’d actually surpassed the mark a couple weeks earlier. This week’s golds in Dubai brought his grand total to 107.
