BRUNSWICK, Maine – Cathleen Pruden has joined the Bowdoin College Athletic Department as assistant coach for the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams.
A Division III All-American in the pool and CoSIDA Academic All-American in the classroom, Pruden is a 2016 graduate of Mount Holyoke College.
Pruden was a four-year member of the Lyons swimming and diving program where she was a nine-time NEWMAC All-Conference honoree in multiple events and four-time NCAA All-America honoree. Pruden was a two-time NEWMAC Swimmer of the Year and the league’s 2013 Rookie of the Year. She was the team captain her senior season and also served as chair of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee in her junior year.
She comes to Bowdoin with previous coaching experience, having served as the head coach for the Durant Trails Typhoons Swim Team during the last three summers, coaching 100 swimmers ages 4-18.
Pruden graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount Holyoke with a degree in Psychology & Education.
