Is it too late for him to De-commit Texas and come to NC State? After all, they have put together the fastest 800 free relay in HISTORY.

The Wolf Pack army sure do know how to make 200 freestyle swimmers!

Considering that Eddie Reese was in the stands watching the meet, it seems they are quite happy with their decision.

It’s too bad some NC State commenters act like NC State is the best and put down other coaches and programs. Everyone knows NC State is a great program, but people that read your comments have begun to dislike NC State because of the negative comments towards other coaches and programs.

NC State commenters-try to keep it positive, you don’t want to come off sounding like idiots.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this comment. I am as diehard Wolfpack as anyone but some of the pro-pack commentators here remind me of the attitude of a lot fans from another close by school (which will remain nameless) which lead me to supporting the Wolfpack in the first place. I’ve always respected the accomplishments of the other ACC atheletic programs in the triangle but hated the attitude of many of their fans. I hate to see wolf pack fans following suit.

I had to intend to offend anyone. Sorry if people perceived my opinion to be negative. But honestly, what part of the statement was incorrect?

Being apart of the NC State team during our meteoric rise is one of the best moments in my life. Being apart of that brotherhood and seeing drastic changes that resulted in a new dynasty in college swimming has been absolutely incredible. Sorry to offend anyone, but I’m sorry if I’m just a passionate fan of my team.

Win an NCAA title. Then win a couple more in succession. Then start posting about a dynasty.

I enjoy you calling NC State dynasty when you’ve never finished better than 4th at NCAAs in a thread where you advocate him decommitting from Texas, the team that has won the last 4 titles.

A dynasty? Of third place finishes?

Are you “ a part” or “apart” of the team. You seem to be saying you were removed or disassociated with the team during their rise, but I think you mean to say you were with them, involved.

Just checking.

Lmao some people are so particular about some of these kids man. How many of the people who are going to read the article and watch the race video can sit back and try to pretend they’re not impressed? This has LITERALLY never happened before to a high schooler, so sit back, live in the moment, and learn to enjoy the day. What this guy has done, and will do, is incredible. Take a bow Carson and Jake Foster.

Well, not quite. Back in the glory days of the 70s, Tim Shaw, at his high school CIF championships, broke the American record for the 500 yard free in 1975 just before the NCAAs. When NCAAs were over, Shaw’s time would have placed 2nd in finals as a high schooler. So, pretty good for back then and even for today’s tough standards.

That is an excellent piece of swimming history. Do you remember Tim Shaw’s time?

The lists are missing Trey Freeman’s 1:33.09 from 2/9/18, that’s whats listed as the former national record.
