Bryant’s Wong, Hazlewood Sweep MAAC Weekly Honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men’s swimming and diving team swept the MAAC weekly awards as FuKang Wong (Johor, Malaysia) and Trevor Hazlewood (Corpus Christi, Texas) were named swimmer and diver of the week, respectively, on Wednesday.

Bryant defeated MAAC member Iona, 175-119, behind three individual victories from Wong and a strong performance from Hazlewood. Wong was dominant, breaking pool records in the 100 breast (54.59) and 200 breast (2:03.51), before closing his day with a win in the 200 IM (1:54.8). He also helped the 200 medley relay take first place. Wong’s time in the 100 breast is currently 11th-best nationally.

Hazlewood won the 1-meter event against the Gaels, posting a score of 262.58.
