SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Ben Schulte (Tumon, Guam) took home three first-place finishes but the Bryant University men’s swimming and diving team was defeated 170-116 by Boston College on Sunday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
In addition to Schulte’s three victories, the Bulldogs also received strong performances from junior Colin Curtin (Wethersfield, Conn.), sophomore diver Kevin Sullivan (East Lyme, Conn.), freshman Robert Davis (Glastonbury, Conn.) and rookie diver Zach Vogel (South Easton, Mass.).
Schulte took home victories in the 100 breast (58.26), the 200 breast (2:11.93) and the 200 IM (1:57.57). Curtin finished second in the 100 back (53.56), while Davis finished third in the 500 free (4:54.82) and fourth in the 200 free (1:50.47) in his first collegiate meet.
Making his Bryant debut, Vogel finished third in the 3 meter and fourth in the 1 meter. He posted scores of 210.67 and 226.65, respectively. Sullivan finished right behind Vogel in both events, posting scores of 207.00 and 220.65.
The Bulldogs will have a week off before returning to the pool on Friday, October 21 when they travel to Providence College.
