Bruno Fratus Recovering from shoulder surgery

Brazilian sprint freestyler Bruno Fratus under went surgery on Sunday to repair ligament damage in the gleno humeral capsule on his right shoulder after dislocating earlier this year while training in Italy.

Fratus has been battling the injury for the last two years and had to go through some extensive measures just to be able to compete at the Maria Lenk competition earlier this month where he finished third in the 50 freestyle posting a 21.92.

His time ranks him ninth in the world this year, tied with Australia’s Matthew Targett.

The shoulder surgery will force Fratus dismiss any hopes of competing in the World Championships, but he should be fully recovered to participate in meets by the end of the year.
