Breaststroke Specialist Jack Oleson Chooses Lafayette College for 2021

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Jack Oleson has shared his decision to continue his academic and athletic careers at Lafayette College beginning in the 2021-2022 season. He is a year-round swimmer at Tollefson Swimming and recently graduated from St. John’s College High School.

I’m excited to announce that I will be swimming at Lafayette College next year. After visiting the campus I knew Lafayette was the perfect fit for me. I’d like to thank everyone that has helped me get to this point. Without my family, friends, and coaches none of this could have been possible. I’m looking forward to the fall. Roll Pards!

Oleson was St. John’s Varsity Swim Team’s captain during his senior season. He is a 3-time Washington Metropolitan Prep School League qualifier. In February of 2020, he made it back in the B-final of the 200 IM. He touched 15th in prelims to earn an evening swim and dropped 1.7 seconds in the evening, moving up 5 places to finish 10th. He was 18th in the 100 back and he was a member of St. John’s 200 medley and 400 free relays.

At the end of his final season, Oleson was named St. John’s College High School’s Male Swimmer of the Year. Aside from swimming, Oleson is a swim lesson instructor and a strong student. He was named to St. John’s Honor Roll.

Top SCY Times:

Lafayette College finished 7th out of 10 teams at the 2020 Patriot League Championships. Distance swimmer Justin Lloyd scored individual points for the team, finishing 16th in the 500 and 14th in the 1650. Aaron Tupper also made it back for an evening swim, touching 16th in the B-final of the 100 free.

Oleson will be joining Pennsylvania 2AA District champion Peter Kawash as a member of the Leopards’ class of 2025.
