The Eastern Michigan women have added a breast/IMer to their incoming class, as Carlee Jones has given her verbal commitment to join the Eagles next season. Jones is a native of Kentucky, where she attends Notre Dame Academy and swims for the Northern Kentucky Clippers.
Last season, Jones was a championship finalist at the Kentucky High School State Championships, where she placed 8th in the 100 breast and 11th in the 200 IM. She was also an NCSA Spring Championships qualifier, swimming 7 events at that meet.
Jones’ Best Times:
Event | Best time |
100 breast | 1:05.17 |
200 breast | 2:21.17 |
200 IM | 2:08.14 |
400 IM | 4:27.51 |
Jones should be an immediate scorer for EMU at the Mid-American conference meet next season, as she’s already fast enough to have scored in the 100 breast and 400 IM last season. With marginal improvements in the 200 breast, she could be a 3-event scorer as a freshman.
Jones’ training group at EMU will include Delaney Duncan, who became to the 100 breast Mid-American champion as a freshman with her 59.46 last season. Adding Jones to the roster will help make up for the graduation loss of Genna Worthley, a finalist in both breaststrokes last season.
Congrats! Look forward to next year!
