Brady Posts Two Wins As Mizzou Women Roll Over Vanderbilt

The Mizzou women squared off with Vanderbilt today in Columbia, MO. The Tigers took the victory easily, 138-96. The Missouri men also swam a intrasquad meet at the same time.

The Tiger women got off to a good start, going 1-2 in the 200 medley relay. Their B squad consisting of Hannah StevensKatharine RossMaddie Gehrke and Anna Patterson came in to win going 1:41.39, just out-touching the A squad who were second in 1:41.81.

Sharli Brady had a strong showing for Missouri, posting victories in the 200 fly (2:00.32) and 100 free (52.04). Kira ZubarNadine LaemmlerAbby Duncan and Maddie Gehrke put the meet out of reach by the break, all picking up individual wins. Zubar won the 200 free (1:52.38), Laemmler the 100 back (56.33), Duncan the 100 breast (1:00.13), and Gehrke the 50 free (23.67). The 100 back and 50 free were both 1-2-3-4 sweeps for the Tigers.

After the break, Hannah Stevens (100 back), Katharine Ross (200 breast) and Aurore Jacolin (500 free) continued the romp for Missouri all taking home wins. The 100 back and 100 breast were both 1-2-3 sweeps.

Vanderbilt picked up the last three events, as Missouri swam exhibition. Brenna Sapienza won the 100 fly (55.40), Kara Lucenti the 200 IM (2:09.17), and they closed it off in the 400 free relay in 3:34.23.

Summer Brown had an impressive showing for Vanderbilt, placing 2nd in both the 200 free (1:52.73) and 100 free (53.02).

Notable performances from the Missouri men intrasquad meet included Michael Chadwick taking two wins in the 100 free (43.14) and 100 fly (50.43), and Carter Griffin taking the 100 back (50.38).

Missouri will be in action tomorrow at the Tiger Invite, while Vanderbilt will face-off with North Florida and Marshall on Saturday.
