The Boston College women’s swim team placed first in a dual meet with Keene, 188-96. The men defeated Keene, 188-88, and Maine, 195-94.5 this weekend at Chestnut Hill.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Led by multiple first-place finishes, the Keene State men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs competed against host Boston College and the University of Maine on Friday evening.

  • The Owls will travel to Springfield, Massachusetts on November 19th to take on New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opponents, Springfield College and Wheaton at 1 p.m. in Art Linkletter Natatorium.

Men’s Highlights 

  • Ryan Boraski continued his dominance in the pool, as the senior led off the 200 medley relay with a swim of 20.41, which ties for the fastest time of a 50 free in NCAA Division III. Borakski, along with Eric KingGraham Lott, and Nathan Shepard finished the race in 1:27.74.
  • Boraski returned to the pool to earn victories in the 50 free in 20.55 and the 200 free in 1:41.88, defeating both Boston College and University of Maine swimmers. Borask’s 500 free swim lifts him to the third best time in Division III and the 200 free race holds as the fastest time in Division III.
  • Kyle Shadeck had strong performances against Maine, as the freshman won the 400 IM and the 200 fly, in 4:19.23 and 2:00.44, respectively. Shadeck’s 400 IM time ranks ninth in Division III.
  • Against Maine, Shepard swam the fastest time in the 100 breaststroke in 58.84, while King touched the wall first in the 200 back in 2:01.98.
  • The Owls fell to both Boston College, 188-88, and to the University of Maine, 166-121.

Women’s Highlights 

  • Sophie Hayes swam the 200 fly in 2:15.86 for a second-place finish.
  • Hope Walsh took second in the 500 free with a time of 5:21.37.
  • The women only competed against swimmers from Boston College, as the Eagles defeated the Owls, 188-96.
