Isn’t it nice when several stories wrap themselves up into a nice little package?
British Swimming has announced that Bob Bowmanwill join their London 2012 Performance Debrief panel through his work with TSE Consulting, a new position that was announced yesterday.
After being named the ASCA Coach of the Year for the 5th time last season, and coaching the most decorated Olympian of all time Michael Phelps for his entire career, Bowman will be taking a mini-sabbatical for the next year from his club NBAC. He made his mission during that time to help grow the sport throughout the world, and this time spent with the Brits will be a part of that.
The organization announced today that Bowman would be joining a panel that will be tasked with breaking-down the British results from their hosted Games last month that were short of many domestic expectations.
Bowman’s Olympians, Phelps and Allison Schmitt, combined for 11 total medals in London, 7 of which are gold; the entire British team combined for just three.

Other announced members of the panel include Craig Hunter, Michael Scott, Conor O’Shea, and 2012 open water silver medalist Thomas Lurz.
That is weird. Why not invite invite Bruce & Kris Jenner? Kris has all the latest floating technology & Bruce is always ready to lend some advice. Make it a TV show as kris & bruce travel around & have friendly conversations.
Alternatively “So You Think You Can Swim ” where chavs could vote on how their lotteries monies are spent on whom.
Unfotunately for British Swimming the public has tons of success elsewhere -29 golds & are not nterested.
