Morgan Rulevich had a standout season season as a freshman for the UNC Asheville Bulldogs.
Rulevich dominated the breaststroke events in the regular season for the Bulldogs. She also had a handful of first place finishes in the 200 freestyle. At Asheville’s meet against The University of Brenau, the Bulldogs relied on Rulevich to win the 200 IM in order to win the meet. Rulevich not only won the 200 IM but also broke the Varsity Record, touching the wall at 2:08.40.
At the 2016 Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Championships Rulevich was a part of all of Asheville’s relays in addition to her three individual races.
Rulevich was a member of the 800 freestyle Varsity Record setting relay team. Her lead off split on the really earned her a personal best time and a Varsity and Freshman Record. Rulevich earned 9th place points in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 23.33. She also helped the 200 freestyle relay team break the Varsity Record. Rulevich scored 4th place points and broke the Varsity Record in the 100 breaststroke, racing to the wall with a time of 1:03.03.
Rulevich scored the Blue and White 2nd place points in the 200 breaststroke with a blistering time of 2:15.45. Not only was this a Varsity and Freshman Record, but UNC Asheville’s first ever NCAA Provisional B-Cut time.
