Lauren Harrington
Born October 16, 1992 Lauren Harrington is a senior butterfly and freestyle specialist at the University of Georgia. Swimming since the age of four, the former USA Swimming Junior National Team Member is from Memphis, Tenn. She was an undefeated Tennessee state champion in the 100 butterfly at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, and has the Tennessee state record in the 100 fly. The Digital and Broadcast Journalism/Political Science major was the no.1 recruit in the class of 2011 from the state of Tennessee, where she grew up to become a huge fan of SEC Football.

University of Georgia
2011-2012
Harrington was an important asset to her Lady Bulldogs at the SEC and National levels. She joined teammates to come in ninth on the 200 freestyle relay and 10th on the 200 and 400 medley relays at the 2012 NCAA Championships. At the SECs she placed sixth in the 200 butterfly, eighth in the 100 butterfly and ninth in the 50 freestyle helping the Lady Bulldogs win their third straight title.

2012-2013
In 2013 Harrington was the national runner-up in the 200 butterfly and finish sixth and 14th on the 400 and 200 medley relays. Her finish in the 200 butterfly made her an All-American.

2013-2014
Harrington helped her team finish third on the 400 medley relay, fifth on the 200 medley relay and she also came in ninth in the 200 butterfly as the Lady Bulldogs won their second straight national championship. She was also selected as a Scholar All-American by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

At the SEC Championships Harrington came in third in the 100 butterfly, sixth in the 200 butterfly and 20th in the 50 freestyle.

2014-2015
This season Harrington is the recipient of the Jack Bauerle Women’s Swimming and Diving Scholarship.

International Competition
Harrington was on the USA Swimming Junior National Team in 2008, 2009 and 2010. She took second in the 100m fly and won the 400m medley relay at the 2009 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.

At the 2013 US Open Harrington finished 2nd in the 200m butterfly, and finished fourth at the 2008 U.S. Open.
